This year there will be a separate start for individuals with Baby Joggers 5 minutes prior to the start of the 8K and 5K Walk.

The 5K Walk and the 1 mile Fun Run will start by following the same course as the 8K run, but will be out and back with the turn around being at the 1.5 mile mark for the 5K Walk and .5 mile mark for the 1 Mile Fun Run.

THE EVENT

Entering its 23rd year, the Charlotte SouthPark Turkey Trot is Charlotte’s longest-running road race event. But more than that, it’s a Charlotte Thanksgiving Day tradition for families and friends and a happy and healthy way to start off one of the best days of the year!

Thanks to the support of our participants and sponsors, we’ve got something for everyone to join in on! And, as always, our commitment to maintaining a first-class event for our participants is our highest priority.

A separate entry form is required for each person entering the Charlotte Turkey Trot. All fees are non-refundable. Make checks payable to Charlotte Turkey Trot. T-Shirts are ONLY guaranteed to preregistered (by 11/21/11) participants of the 8K, 5K Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run, and then on a firstcome, first-serve basis until quantities are gone.

Tot Trot participants will receive a medal.

TOT TROT: registration is $6.00. Children ages walking through 6 years old will run a children’s marathon distance of 26.2 yards beginning at 10 a.m. Children will compete within their own age divisions.

RACE WEEK SCHEDULE

Packet Pick-up will take place on Wednesday, November 23rd from 1pm to 8pm in the large tent located in the Dillard's at South Park Mall Parking Lot, just off Morrison Rd. near the race finish and across the street from the Bojangles of SouthPark at 6555 Morrison Blvd., Charlotte.

If you do not wish to receive your race packet in person, you can opt to have it mailed for a charitable contribution and processing fee. The majority of this fee is going to the Jewish Community Center Charities Fund. Deadline to participate is Oct. 16th, 2011.

Day 1 for Early Registrants –

Day 2 for Early and Late Registrants –

Wednesday, November 23rd, 1 to 8 p.m.
For participants who registered after November 17th and folks still looking to register.

A portion of race proceeds from the Charlotte Turkey Trot goes to Partners for Parks and the Sharon United Methodist Church Youth Ministry.

Additionally, the 2011 Charlotte Turkey Trot is funding the Jewish Community Center Charities Fund through the Race Packet Mailing Option.

THE COURSE

Course Description and Runner Support

Our course starts and finishes next to SouthPark Mall. Participants will enjoy a safe and scenic run through South Charlotte. For a detailed course map, please visit our website. Water stops will be positioned on the course. Portable restrooms will be stationed at the Start/Finish line area and at the midway point of the 8K.

TIMING

Chronotrack timing will be used for the 8K event. Chronotrack uses disposable chips, allowing for fast and accurate timing.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES

Stick around after you finish your event to cheer others on and enjoy food and drink with friends and family. Awards will be handed out and WLYT 102.9 will be on-site playing great music!

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Our official race photographer is Carolina Snapshot. Pictures will be available at www.carolinasnapshot.com within 4 days of the event.

RUNNER AWARDS

8K awards ceremony will be held for the top 3 Male and Female Overall winners and the top Male and Female Masters winners. Age group awards will also be given in the 8K. There will be no duplication of awards. No awards will be given in the 1 Mile Run or 5K Walk.

RESULTS

Race results will be posted as soon as possible at the post-race site and on the web at www.charlotteturkeytrot.com and www.rmssports.com.
